After a fire in 1791 at Richmond House in Whitehall, London, James Wyatt added two great wings to showcase the saved collection at Goodwood. To give unity to the two new wings, Wyatt added copper-domed turrets framing each façade.

The action kicks off on Friday 25 August with a bang for the annual Friday night fireworks spectacle straight after horseracing. A breath-taking musical display, featuring an explosion of colour will light up the skyline over West Sussex making it a perfect start to an enchanting weekend. Additional Circus entertainment will also be on display in the Gordon and Richmond enclosures with Stilt Walkers, a Fire Performer, Jugglers and Hula Hoop Duo.
Saturday 26 August racegoers can look forward to thrilling racing on the track with top-class racing taking place. The card features the Group 2 William Hill Celebration Mile Stakes, while the William Hill, Group 3 Prestige Fillies’ Stakes provide further interest to a fantastic supporting card.
On Sunday 27 August there will be more summer holiday magic of yesteryear with fairground rides and family festivities on offer. Families can enjoy traditional fairground rides, fairground games, petting zoo and face painting.
The weekend provides a very affordable and fun days out for all the family with tickets starting at just £12 and Under 18’s go free. There is free parking available and all entertainment off the track is free. There will also be a complimentary bus to and from Chichester Station.
