Video: The one-off 7.0-litre V12 Can-Am Ferrari

14th July 2020
Ben Miles

Did you know Ferrari made a Can-Am car? Did you know that the largest engine ever made by Ferrari is a 7.0-litre V12 made specifically for a Can-Am car? Well, now you do.

That car, and we mean car, as they made just one, is the Ferrari 712, and at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard in 2011 it was piloted up the hill by lucky owner Paul Knapfield in the Timed Shootout. Just think about that for a second: a one-of-a-kind Ferrari, a Can-Am car, with the biggest engine Ferrari ever made, and the small matter of 670PS on tap, and it’s been entered into the Timed Shootout at the Festival. It’s an exhilarating experience for us watching the video, so imagine what it was like for the driver!
