Video: Onboard | Bruno Senna screams V10 McLaren MP4/5 around Goodwood
If you were standing trackside for the V10-era F1 car demo at the 79th Goodwood Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport you would have seen and heard the McLaren MP4/5 scream its way around the Motor Circuit. Amazing though the sound was from the outside, though, the best seat in the house was that of Bruno Senna. Would you just listen to this.
Seriously, it’s one of the tastiest onboard soundtracks we’ve ever enjoyed at Goodwood. Revving the engine out to almost triple the point at which most road car engines would detonate, darting up and down through the gears on a beautiful H-pattern manual gearbox, blipping the engine on the downchanges. It’s too good not to watch. Mad, too, is how easily Bruno is able to catch up with the GMA T.50 pace car, which we know is a seriously fast car. Then again, this very car did take the legendary Ayrton Senna, Bruno’s uncle, to six race wins and the 1990 F1 world championship, so we shouldn’t be all that surprised…
