And what a way to kick off four packed days of action on and around the Hill. One of our major celebrations marked the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship. There were more than 100 F1 cars around the venue and no fewer than seven World Champions in attendance. If you love the pinnacle form of single-seater motorsport, there’s plenty here to get stuck into.
We also celebrated Carl Fogarty’s incredible 1995 season where he dominated with his Ducati 916. The same summer, Derek Bell stood on the Le Mans 24 Hours podium with his son, Justin. Bell Senior’s remarkable career was celebrated on Thursday with an emotional Balcony moment you won’t want to miss. There’s also a host of other more informal interviews with drivers to enjoy, around the paddocks, at the top of the Hill and in the Drivers’ Club.
Elsewhere, there was just about every form of motorsport you can think of represented on the Hill, the Forest Rally Stage presented by Subaru and the Off-Road Arena, and a whole host of road cars. New launches, supercar and the debut of the New Classics category meant there was plenty to entertain enthusiasts of road-going cars.
Get the snacks and drinks in, and settle back for close to ten hours of automotive heaven. Here is Thursday at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
