Our compilation of the 14 wildest moments at the 82nd Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport brings together spins, saves, hard driving and close shaves. Frank Stippler uses a bit of grass to keep his Ferrari Dino 206S pointing the right way, as does Lukas Halusa, as he finds a new way through St. Mary’s in his Alfa Romeo Giulia. It’s a similar story with the Mazda RX-7 from the Win Percy Trophy.
Sticking with saloon cars, Max Chilton puts on a great display of car control while extracting everything he can from a Lotus Cortina. Jake Hill puts in a similar performance in the Gitanes-liveried Ford Cortina, keeping it sideways in his efforts to maintain as much speed as possible.
Things got very close in the Hailwood Trophy when Levi Day had to squeeze onto the grass on the Lavant Straight. He holds things together with a brief footdown moment. Props, too, to the Ferrari 250 SWB driver who keeps his car from the tyre wall (aside from a slight brush with one corner of the car).
Without listing every moment, we have to give mention to Marcus Black who ran wide in his 1913 Sunbeam 25/30 at St. Mary’s. The stiffness of the Edwardian car’s suspension is revealed when the back of the seat almost ejects itself from the car over the bumpy drive.
Tickets for the 83rd Members’ Meeting will be available for a limited time immediately after this year’s event for Members and Fellows of the GRRC. Admission and Grandstand tickets will go on sale on Monday 14th April for Members, and Wednesday 16th April for Fellows.
