MG restomoders Frontline Car's MGA Factory Edition has made its international debut at the 82nd Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport this weekend.

Tipping the scales at just 815kg (dry), the MGA Factory Edition is powered by a choice of 2.0 or 2.5-litre Ford Duratec engines producing 228PS (168kW) and 294PS (216kW), respectively. Each features individual throttle bodies, fast-road cams, a stainless-steel exhaust and a five-speed manual gearbox. The result we imagine (and are more than happy to confirm in person if you're listening to Frontline MGA) is a car brimming with character backed up by the contemporary reliability of modern engine management.

And the news gets better as you read the chassis specs. Developed in-house, the Factory Edition gets an uprated limited-slip diff and five-pivot multi-link rear suspension developed with specialists in the business, Nitron Shocks. Uprated brakes – four-piston at the front and two-piston at the rear – provide the braking, and Frontline kept things period correct, throwing in a fly-off handbrake for good measure. Adjustable electric power steering should make this a straightforward car to live with.

Frontline's been just as considerate with its new car's styling, sticking faithfully to the original's looks while adding modern upgrades like neater-looking (and more powerful LED) headlights discreetly etched with Frontline's logo. The Factory Edition is also the first car in the company's 30-plus-year history to feature a Frontline badge on its bonnet.

Tim Fenna, Founder and Chief Engineer at Frontline Cars, said: "The MGA always had more to give. We wanted to keep its iconic shape and character while transforming the driving experience. This is a car that looks and feels like a classic but drives like something far more advanced. It's light, fast, and incredibly rewarding – but still, unmistakably, an MGA.

"For us, building a car is about starting with building that connection with our customers directly. We work one-on-one with each build, fitting our customers into their car like a tailor fits a suit – the beauty of it being that it can be completely bespoke to what the customer wants from a car. That's why the MGA Factory Edition is so special – it's not a museum piece. It's a car you'll want to drive and reach for the keys in every scenario, rain or shine."

Offered as a roadster and a coupé (and in both left and right-hand-drive configuration), each MGA is built from a fully restored body and is highly customisable with limitless paint options and an on-site trim shop at the company's Oxford HQ that can finish the cabin exactly how you want it.

The car is on display at this year’s Members’ Meeting, and the first deliveries begin in the summer of 2026. The price? Expect it to pay from around £120,000.

The 82nd Members' Meeting is live now! You can watch every moment of the action on our live stream right here on GRR.

Tickets for the 83rd Members’ Meeting will be available for a limited time immediately after this year’s event for Members and Fellows of the GRRC. Admission and Grandstand tickets will go on sale on Monday 14th April for Members, and Wednesday 16th April for Fellows.
