Watch from every angle as the Mercedes reserve driver pushes the 750kg F1 car around the 2.4-mile circuit, the 1,000PS output allowing it to accelerate to 62mph from a standstill in just 2.6-seconds. Along the back straight, Gutierrez reported clocking 286km/h – that’s a blistering 177mph to you and I.

Brace yourself and enjoy the blistering acceleration, insane aerodynamics and sharp braking vicariously, and admire the precision and skill with which the Mexican hustles the car around Goodwood. This has to be one of the hottest laps we’ve ever had the joy of watching…
