First held at Goodwood in 1958, the RAC TT attracted some of the world’s fastest cars and drivers in period. The modern-day RAC TT Celebration does the same, with a line-up of exquisite machinery and a contemporary crop of racing talent.
The 2025 entry list didn’t disappoint, featuring the likes of six-time Indycar champion Scott Dixon, seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson, Indy 500 winners Tony Kanaan and Dario Franchitti, respective nine-time and five-time Le Mans winners Tom Kristensen and Emanuele Pirro, and the respective 1997 and 2009 F1 World Champions Jacques Villeneuve and Jenson Button. There are more incredible drivers we could list off, but in reality it’s just the entirety of the entry list.
As ever, the race is a battle between lightweight and slightly lesser powered cars like the Jaguar E-type and Porsche 906, and big, brutal machines like Shelby Cobras, Chevrolet Corvette Sting Rays and Bizzarrini 5300GTs.
The 2025 edition started with a dry track, but dark clouds loomed off towards Chichester. An early red flag meant a pause in proceedings, and when the race resumed the heavens began to open. Cross-ply historic tyres on hugely powerful rear-wheel-drive racers plus water equals massively entertaining racing.
