The mixed weather we’ve had at the Goodwood Revival this weekend certainly didn’t dampen any spirits over at the Turning Circle, which whisked us all away to sunny California as we channelled the spirit of Haight-Ashbury,
Theatrics are an intrinsic part of the Revival experience, and the Turning Circle has a proud tradition of embracing themes from various events across the Revival period, from the Festival of Britain to the to last year’s Wild West takeover.
As the place that kickstarted the Summer of Love, Haight-Ashbury was the place to be in 1967 and so was the Turning Circle at the 2025 Revival. It must be said the location is a prime spot, because this experience is one of the first things to greet you upon arrival into the Motor Circuit. Therefore, no one could be blamed for getting hooked and staying all day to soak up the good vibes.
The VW Type 2 Camper Vans that have opened track proceedings each day with a parade are especially in their element here in what has to be the most colourful place in the whole site. None more so than artist Daniel Arsham’s custom liveried model, which features a cheery blue design with flowers and rainbows and features a Pegasus, a timeless symbol of freedom and imagination that encapsulates the spirit of the 1960s.
Flower crowns and bubbles complete the scene with a live band playing out all the hits of the decade. The feel-good factor that took over Haight-Ashbury that landmark summer has been in full swing over at the Turning Circle.
