A year ago, we got our first look at the Lamborghini Temerario, and now we have a chance to get up close and personal with the Temerario GT3. Making its global debut at the 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, this is Lamborghini’s answer to the Ferrari 296 GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Unveiled here by long standing Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman, the Temerario GT3 is set to undergo further development over the next year before making its global racing debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2026.
In simple terms, the Temerario GT3 follows the formula so clearly laid out by its peers, with less weight than the road car and all the relevant safety equipment to race in GT3 class events across the globe.
The engine is based on the production car’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine, but the GT3 has new turbochargers and a new compressor and does without the regular car’s hybrid system. That means 557PS (409kw) rather than 811PS (596kW), but the GT3’s advantage is it weighs significantly less than the road car, though we don’t have a precise figure.
There are six-way KW dampers, 18-inch Ronal AG wheels, a custom hydraulic steering rack, carbon-composite bodywork and, thankfully for anyone who sees it out on track, a Capristo exhaust. There’s no specific detail on the brakes just yet, but no doubt they’ll bring the Temerario GT3 to a stop rather quickly.
It’s clear from Stephan Winkleman this is an important car for Lamborghini. Let’s hope it delivers when it heads out on track.
