Want a Mini? Want an electric car? Want something sporty? Want a compact crossover? Then Mini has the car for you, the Mini John Cooper Works Aceman, and it’s here in First Glance at the 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.

With 258PS (190kW) and 350Nm (258lb ft) of torque this is hardly the most powerful car on the Hill this weekend, but it’s the latest in a long line of performance Minis that can trace its roots back to the original Mini Cooper and the late John Cooper himself.

The John Cooper Works Aceman, as well as having a heap more power compared to the standard Aceman, has JCW-specific suspension tuning which, according to BMW, “maximises typical Mini go-kart feeling and guarantees agile handling.”

There are styling tweaks too, with the example here this weekend finished in the instantly recognisable JCW grey and red paint scheme. High-performance tires are part of the standard equipment of both models.

Driven carefully you could expect to get 220 miles of range from the Mini John Cooper Works Aceman, but we suspect if you drove everywhere like our keen driver on the Hill you’d struggle to hit that…

The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed is underway! You can watch every moment of the action by watching our livestream.
