It was another scorching day at the 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard on Saturday, but the warm weather has done nothing to slow down the action.
As you’d expect, rally heroes have continued to blast their way around the Forest Rally Stage presented by Subaru, and we’ve had road and racing cars alongside two-wheeled machines on the Hill. The Hillclimb action built to a crescendo with Timed Shoot-Out class battles, where those taking part in the final Timed Shoot-Out on Sunday battled for top honours in their various classes. We saw some spicy times, and the cars and drivers are likely to push even harder tomorrow.
For Formula 1 fans, the day was a wild one. As well as seeing current drivers Esteban Ocon, Ollie Bearman and Gabriel Bortoleto on the Hill (plus Valtteri Bottas), the crowds outside Goodwood House enjoyed a moment they’re unlikely to forget, with no fewer than seven former F1 champions on the balcony.
One by one, we heard from Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti, Jacques Villeneuve, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Emerson Fittipaldi and Mika Häkkinen. There was even a surprise appearance from Bernie Ecclestone, who witnessed the success of every single one of those drivers as ringmaster of F1 for more than four decades.
It was an incredible day, and with Sunday still to come there’s plenty more action across the entire Festival site and, of course, the Timed Shoot-Out. Whether you’re here in person or watching online, it’s not to be missed.
