Day three of the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard has been the busiest so far, with thousands of motorsport fans attending the sellout Saturday.

Batch after batch have taken to the hillclimb, entertaining the rosy spectators, while the new Arena presented by Forza Horizon 4: LEGO Speed Champions has proven popular among the younger crowd.

Just a day after smashing the two-decade-old overall hillclimb record, Romain Dumas has done it again, and set a sub-40 second time. Late this afternoon, the Frenchman beat his 41.18 run from yesterday, and flew from the start to finish lines in just 39.9 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Ford GT MkII took the top spot in the Supercar Shootout, with a 52.03-second run. And Porsche pulled the covers from its all-new 911 RSR at the bottom of the Hill, then Mark Webber took to the wheel of the new Porsche Taycan.

Finally, also making a hillclimb debut today was little old me, climbing aboard the Desmosedici X2 MotoGP bike behind Ducati test rider Franco Battaini and clinging on for dear life as he wheelied up the Hill. Exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure, keep your eyes peeled for a full feature on the ride...

There’s just one day left of motoring’s greatest garden party, but if the last couple of days are anything to go by, it’s going to be epic.
